John - 11 Months

John at 11 Months

Wow...John sure is developing at a rapid rate these days! 

Loves to throw balls, or really whatever is in his hand, chase them and repeat

Took 1-2 steps on his own at the beginning of the month, but recently takes 4-8 step

Does not like his diaper changed

Loves the new game room to run, play, push his lawn mower, listen to music, and push the ball down the stairs (currently his favorite game)

Loves walks outside

Likes to say duck, quack, quack ("dut", "quat")

Can find his nose (and yours), his hair, and feet

Likes to use the comb or brush to fix his hair (and yours)

Really enjoys the water, whether it is the pool or bathtub

Music really calms John down during fussy times, especially in the car

Understands a lot of what we say

Lets you know what he wants by finger/hand pointing and grunting

Likes chicken, cheese, and avocado 

Got a double ear infection at the beginning of the month

Weighted 27 pounds 4 ounces as of June 10, 2013

Cannot believe that here in a couple weeks, our sweet baby boy will be a year old! We love him so very much! 

 

 

New House - Frisco, TX

We closed on our new house May 6, 2013 and moved in on May 8, 2013! It is the perfect house for our family! It is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath with living, kitchen, game room, dining, and study. It is a wonderful gated community (Heritage Lakes) with lots of sidewalks, ponds (with Ducks, as John likes to point out), 9 hole golf course, and a swimming pool. We are truly blessed! We could not have accomplished the move-out and move-in without the many hours of help from family ... thank you!

John - 10 Months

 We are currently in the middle of moving during this month, which is why the post is late!

John enjoyed looking (and taking out) every item in the boxes

He is standing up on his own more frequently, but still crawls everywhere

He loves to push around the beach ball and chase after it

Picking up food and eating on his own

Loves chicken, bread and cheerios

Sleeps 10-11 hours each night

Getting much more of an opinion 

Likes to be in on the action ... does not leave Mommy's side

We love to see his little personality blossom more and more each month!

 

John - 9 Months

It is getting increasingly more difficult to get a picture that is focused

Weights 23 pounds 1 ounce and is 29 inches long (as of 4/5/2013)

Like to feed himself

Not picky on the foods he eats 

Gets really excited when it's time to eat

Extremely active

Crawls to wherever you are in the house

Likes to "throw" and chase the ball

Holds a ball in both hands, while trying to crawl

Loves outside (and dirt)

Pulls himself up

Tries to stand on own (3-5 seconds)

Pushes the laundry basket

Will stand at the window and look outside

Says "dada, "baba", "nana"

Crawls and smiles big when daddy comes home from work

Learned how to open doors

John - 8 Months

Weighed 22 pounds 1 ounce as of February 19, 2013

Started crawling on February 17, 2013
Crawls everywhere
Will follow us around the house crawling
Got first ear infection, but cleared up in about a week
Pulls up on often
Would prefer to stand without help

Likes to give kisses
Recognizes the words "no", "mommy", "daddy", "sit-down", "bottle"
Started to get opinionated
Vocal about foods he likes and doesn't like
Vocal about being held ... all the time
Prefers to feed himself
Picks up and eats bananas, kiwi, avocado, beets, clementines, grapes, blueberries
Loves Gerber Puffs
Prefers to be out and about in new places

Takes 2 - 3 naps a day

Wakes up at 7 am each day, but sleeps 10 to 11 hours

John's Baby Dedication

John was dedicated at Prestonwood Baptist Church on Sunday, February 17, 2013. We had lots of family there to support us in this dedication. It was a very blessed time for our family. After the dedication, we went to the Gentry's to enjoy lunch and fellowship. Here are some pictures from the occasion.

John - 7 Months

Sits up by himself
Scoots backwards
Starting to figure out how to crawl forward
Says "Momma, DaDa, and BaBa"
Likes to hold and play with items that are not toys
(pens, oatmeal boxes, bottles with items that make noise when they shake)
Plays well with other children
Getting more opinionated
Eat 24 - 30 ounces of formula a day
Eats 4 - 8 ounces of solids 2 - 3 times a day, with a snack in the afternoon
Does not like the car seat
Touches everything and puts everything in his mouth
Has both front bottom teeth and starting to get both top teeth
He is a very caring little boy ... On a buggy ride at church he sat next to a little girl who was crying and he patted her until she stopped crying. 

We love our little boy! He is growing up so fast!
