James - 14 Months

James at 14 Months

James has gotten his two top molars and is working on the bottom two. It's been a long, painful process. He hasn't slept real well and is quite fussy during the day.
He still loves to read, but is picky about what he wants you to read. He will say "no, no" if he doesn't want you to read something.
He climbs on everything...the stools, the stairs, into the cabinets. He has finally learned how to climb down the stairs after many failed attempts.
James pretty much plays by himself and will just wonder off to do his own thing.
He likes to imitate John. For example, John was using a blanket to lay on in the game room and James went to get a blanket too.
He say "tootie" (cookie) A LOT. He wants a "tootie" all the time, in the morning, during lunch, and during dinner.
He also says "no, no" A LOT.
James loves when Daddy comes home from work. He will walk to Daddy, put his hands up, and want Daddy to hold him "hoowl mee".
He is a super happy little boy and gives really big hugs.
We love our little boy!

John - 31 Months

John at 31 Months

John has become a big communicator:
- He likes to talk about what he sees when riding in the car, the back-hoes, bulldozers, cranes (that are building the Cowboy stadium)
- He kisses and tells baby Grace night, night. He tells me that baby Grace needs new pink pajamas and a pink "wake up shirt".
- Sings the ABCs a lot
- Asks about when his birthday is and when he'll be "3"
- He likes to talk a lot at night before bedtime
He will give kisses to Mommy and say that he "gave kisses because he loves me".
John likes to wrestle with Daddy when he gets home.
We are working on being a good listener and obeying immediately.
John is doing a really good job going potty and telling us when he has to go.
We love our little guy that is growing up and being a big boy.

James - 13 Months

James at 13 Months

James started walking on January 1, 2015!
He now walks about 75% of the time.
Got his top two molars, which has caused a lot of drainage and an ear infection. He also caught a little tummy bug, which was then passed to Daddy and John.
He has become much more vocal and likes to say "no" and "hold me" a lot.
It's really cute when he says "hold me" because he has these puckered lips.
He has become extremely opinionated about eating. He especially likes "tooties (cookies)" after a couple bites of eating real food.
Started going to CLC at Prestonwood twice a week.
James prefers to have John's water cup. But after getting him a similar cup, he still wants John's cup!
He likes to read lots of books, but flips through the pages and is then onto the next book. He could read for ever, especially books that have sports ball in them.
Loves to sing and dance. He will move to the music when he hears it.
Says "cheese" when there is a phone or camera.
Likes Daddy to put him to bed at night lately. Will ask for Daddy when Mommy puts him to bed.
Has the cutest little smile with dimples.

John - 30 Months

John at 30 Months

John is becoming such a big boy!
He talks a lot. He likes to explain how things work and the order in which things will happen.
He of course loves to do things himself.
Enjoys helping Mommy in the kitchen, cook, clean, and put dishes away.
He likes to have tasks to do. He is very orderly and process oriented.
He's a big helper when cleaning up toys at the end of the day.
Likes to say "no" quite a bit and has taught James to say "no".
Came down with a stomach bug and wheezing episode this last month.
Been much more clingy to Mommy and Daddy lately and wanting us to hold him more.
Loves to eat and now asks for specific items, like pizza or chicken nuggs ("nuggets").
Loves to wrestle with Daddy.
Can throw a ball really hard.
He recognizes backhoes, bulldozers and cranes when we are driving.
He will also say "go", the light is green at stop lights.
Still loves to watch Daniel Tiger and has been singing lots of the little songs from the show ("Have to Go Potty" and "If It's Bad").
Was told at church one Sunday that John was a big helper during clean up time and he is very easy and chill in the classroom.
We are potty training...each day gets better. We went to get a potty at the store and John picked out one that "flushed". He liked it for about a day and then decided that he prefers the "big" potties. He started out having accidents when in pull-ups, but now keeps pull-ups mostly dry during awake hours and tells us when he has to go potty. He is really good about keeping his underwear dry when he is at home. When we go to the mall he likes the family bathrooms that have the "baby" potties. He still won't go potty at school, but that will come in time.
